General

GReddy hasn’t been around since the performance enhancing sports car industry was just starting to boom in the early 90s. GReddy has some flagship products turbo upgrade kits, cool air intakes, supercharger kits, both on turbo kits, blowoff elves and intercooler kits as well. But today we tested one of the best ways to increase performance in a smaller engine which is forced induction, which basically is a turbo upgrade kit the one we tested was the scion tc turbo kit, specs on this translated to a 100 hp increase on total engine performance. This scion TC which was a 2005, off the lot, peaked at 161 HP, and about 160 foot-pounds of torque. We had one of the top-notch performances enhancing mechanics on the job, and he said that it took all his technical knowledge to install the scion tc turbo kit. So basically, you’re going to need some serious wrenching skills in order to install this turbo kit, best to look up your local sports car performance mechanic to install this. It took our mechanic roughly 7 hours to install, the next day we took us out to a famous drag strip in Glendale California, and industrial Parkway with several miles of straight-aways without traffic lights.

After we installed the GReddy scion tc turbo kitit was very apparent that our first test drive that the stock tires were not going to hold up, it was practically impossible to not peel out. Performance tires and wheels were definitely the next purchase on our list, but we were still able to test the limits and extremities of our new enhanced engine and to say the least this thing was very mean. We turned this scion TC from a tame a powerful beast, we brought one of our friends brand-new 2009 Audi TT to run up against, and the scion equipped with a scion tc turbo kit easily blew the Audi out of the water in a quarter-mile race by an average of two car lengths.

There is not a lot of cars sports-coupe category, under $20,000 that this was stylish, and has options available like the scion TC, but when you add the $2400 scion TC turbo kit you’re putting the scion TC in a different class of automobile. It will give the BMW M3 a run for its money, as well as any BMW C-Series barring the Mercedes AMG 55, at the scion TC’s curb weight is 300 hp that the scion tc turbo kit gives the TC it’s a ridiculous amount of acceleration in fact it’s almost impossible within the first two gears but not to peel out and leave a little rubber on the road, so once again emphasized that along with the scion TC turbo upgrade it would probably be their best interest to get some low-profile performance tires and wheels. Other than that your scion TC, upgraded with the scion tc turbo kit, is ready to go an awful I can compete with just about any vehicle out there that street legal.
