Tesla Roadster: A Hybrid Super Car

Tesla

Until two years ago, my dream car was Ferrari F430. That is before I spotted the Tesla Roadster. The Tesla Roadster is a very special car introduced in 2006. Officially released in 2007, the Tesla Roadster is a screaming-fast, all-electric two-seater sports car built on the frame of the Lotus Elise. Yes, you read it correctly; it is all-electric, meaning it does not consume any form of gasoline fuel at all. It is my new dream car, offering superb performance – 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds – with no emissions whatsoever. What about the range? I know the most concern about any all-electric car concerns its range, but the Tesla Roadster offers a cool 135 miles per gallon equivalent and 200 mile range.

Not good enough? Its futuristic exterior, as well as interior design, are beautiful. It has a strong Lotus Elise character with a slight twist, and its interior is simple yet intuitive and futuristic. Don’t get me started with comfort factors; Tesla Roadster is really silent, comfortable and safe to drive, and of course, exotic. The $98,000 suggested retail price might be a bit too high, but it is relatively cheap for a sports car. There is no doubt about it - the Tesla Roadster is a hybrid super car indeed.
