Toyota hybrid cars are in a league of their own when it comes to hybrid cars. The most successful hybrid car from Toyota is the Prius. Though the Toyota Prius was launched in 1997 in Japan, it finally gained steam in 2003 when the present model of the Prius was launched. Now it was a mid-size liftback as with lots of legroom and a powerful engine. Many features which are optional on other cars were part of the standard set in the Prius. Now the car is sleeker, more efficient and safer than before after receiving 5 stars (out of 5) in the crash testing test conducted by NHTSA. It has also bagged the title of the “most fuel efficient car sold in the U.S” by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
So, why should we go for a Toyota hybrid car? The facts don’t lie. Toyota has sold more units of the Prius than combined sales of all other hybrids. The 2003 model and the subsequent modified version till the present date are the apple of everyone’s eye and continues to get one award after the other. For those who were a little put off by the looks, the new 2010 Prius which will be unveiled on Jan 12 2009 at the Detroit Motor Show sports a more aggressive look than before.
